I’m Mila (they/them). I live in Squamish, BC, and I build observability tooling.
Most of my time these days goes into otel-desktop-viewer, a local OpenTelemetry viewer I’ve been maintaining since 2023. It takes OTLP over HTTP or gRPC and shows you your telemetry in a browser.
Before all this I did a few other kinds of engineering: deployment automation at a telecom, where I built a tick-based state machine that resolves blue-green deployments based on production metrics; firmware testing at a fiber-optics company, where I thermal-cycled switches in environmental chambers to see how they’d do in a desert; and a college applied-research lab, where I prototyped pro-athlete vision-training drills as a Unity game to see how they could be made accessible to more people.
Away from the keyboard: fibre craft, sustainability, car-free bike life, and Formula 1.
